My name is Erika Pelaez, and I’ve been swimming since the age of four. What started as a love for the water grew into a lifelong passion and a journey that has shaped me both as an athlete and as a mentor. I’m a Division I student-athlete at NC State University and have had the honor of representing the United States in international competition. I’ve competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials and on the world stage, experiencing both the highs of success and the challenges that come with elite sport. Through it all, I’ve learned how important technique, preparation, mindset, and resilience are to long-term growth. Alongside my competitive career, I’ve spent several years coaching and mentoring young athletes. I work with athletes on all aspects of their development, from technique and race strategy to mindset, confidence, work ethic, motivation, and learning how to handle pressure. I believe that success comes from understanding the full picture, not just what happens during a race or game. As a mentor at Level Up Athletics, my goal is to support athletes as whole individuals. I want to help them build confidence, stay motivated, and develop the habits and mindset needed to reach their goals while continuing to love their sport.
